NewTek 3PLAY™ Wins Technological Innovation Award at 2009 NAB Show

Multi-Channel HD/SD Slow Motion Replay Device Earned TV Technology

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – April 29, 2009 – NewTek Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, today announced that its new 3PLAY™ multi-channel, high definition/standard definition (HD/SD) slow-motion replay system is a recipient of a 2009 TV Technology “STAR” Award presented by the editorial staff of TV Technology magazine at the 2009 NAB Show. Recognized for superior technological innovation, NewTek 3PLAY enables producers to enhance live productions with simultaneous display, recording, and instant replay of up to three video streams and four digital or analog audio streams per input.

"Every year, the NAB show serves as the launching pad for thousands of new products and services for audio and video professionals," said Tom Butts, editor, TV Technology. "Our panel of editors walked the show floor in search of the most innovative technologies. The products that we selected for the STAR Award made the cut – they demonstrated their ability to help advance the acquisition and distribution of entertainment and information across the media spectrum."

"This award confirms that NewTek 3PLAY is a breakthrough product, literally replay reinvented. It shatters the price and performance barriers for multi-channel, HD/SD replay products," said Jim Plant, chief executive officer, NewTek Inc. "We want to thank the editors of TV Technology for this preeminent award that establishes 3PLAY as a noteworthy industry innovation."

NewTek 3PLAY's price makes multi-channel, HD/SD slow motion replay available to a much broader base of sports broadcasters, teams, leagues, schools, organizations and live remote producers. 3PLAY delivers synchronized, continuous recording and display of up to three video streams. The system connects to any switcher and supports the output of either a single stream or all three streams to the switcher for complete flexibility in live production. Replays are easily organized to distinguish teams, players, game periods, event types and highlights. 3PLAY supports 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios.
