TS Computers Provides Web Stream for NBA D- League
TS Computers and Video provided technical services for the
NBA D League showcase in Orem Utah January 5th - 8th. The
event involved 16 games in 4 days, providing scouts from
both the NBA as well as international teams a chance to see
Development League players in action. All 16 games were
streamed live, live switched, and recorded via a TriCaster
Studio. A second TriCaster Studio was used along with a
NewTek TimeWarp unit to provide slow motion instant replays.
"By using the second TriCaster, the director was able to
select 2nd camera angle s for instant replays, adding a whole
new level of production value to the streams." said Bob
Anderson of TS Computers, who was in charge of the main live
switch, as well as the live stream. Representatives of NBA
entertainment said that the cost of bringing out a couple
trucks full of production and satelite gear was just to
costly, but by bringing in the TriCaster and a very small
crew, it allowed the games to be webcast at a fraction of
the normal cost. The TriCaster worked flawlessly, and the
production value far exceeded our expectations!
